Hello to all,

just reading Gilg. & Huwawa, I wonder where the translation "Heho, Heldenhafter", proposed by Edzard 1990, for i3-a lum-lum comes from.
As far as I know, there are only 9 references, thereof 4 in literary catalogues (with var. lu2-ulu3 "person, man", and Var. i-a), 2 in Gilg. & Huw. A:130; 164), 1 in Gilg. & Huw. B:1; and 2 in Gilg. & the Bull of Heaven, Segment B:91 and Segment D:39 (with Var. ia4).
Can we say that the variants i3-a (7 references), i-a (1 reference) and ia4 (NA4), 1 reference indicate that the former interpretation as "eine Art Salböl" is to be ruled out?

And for lum(-lum) can we assume a meaning "man, person", as the var. lu2-ulu3 (listed in e-PSD sub lulu) indicate?
Do we have enough support to assume a reading lu(x) for LUM, thus getting lu(x)-lu(x) = LUM.LUM, as a kind of syllabic writing for lu2-lu7 (GISHGAL) = lulu?

Thanks for any comments,

Andrea
